The heart of the Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Program is in its client-centric approach. You will learn to teaching the bodies (clients) presented, as opposed to mindlessly applying a fixed sequence of exercises to any client.
Starting from the Pilates Matwork Teacher Certification, the focus is on the process of:
– assessing your client when they are moving
– making critical judgements about their strengths, challenges and imbalances
– deciding what your client needs
– understanding which pieces on which Pilates apparatus is the most relevant to your client at every stage of his/her practice
– understanding the intention of each Pilates movement on each apparatus so that the benefits of the exercise can be experienced by the client through relevant verbal and tactile cues
– managing client’s expectations and goal setting
Being comprehensive certified by BodyTree Academy means:
1. You have completed all Prehab Trainer Modules (which are the pre-requisites)
2. You have completed and passed the Pilates Matwork Teacher Training Certification
3. You have completed all BTA Apparatus Training: Spine Corrector Teacher Certification, Reformer Teacher Certification and Studio Teacher Certification
4. Passed your Comprehensive Program Evaluation

The BodyTree Academy Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Program is suitable for you if you are a:

Program Structure and Details

There are a total of 173 Classroom hours
(a) Pilates Matwork Teacher Certification - 50 Hours
(b) Spine Corrector Teacher Certification - 12 Hours
(c) Reformer Teacher Certification - 60 Hours
(d) Studio Teacher Certification - 51 Hours
Additionally the trainee has to complete the following program hours (referred to as Additional Program Hours)
Self Study Hours – 80
Observation hours – 110
Self Practice hours – 75
Student teaching hours – 65
Assisted Teaching Hours - 10
Private Sessions with Faculty - 50
On top of this the trainee needs to arrange for 15 of their teaching sessions to be observed by a member of Faculty.
Upon completion of all hours and meeting the minimum requirements of the theory, performance and teaching evaluations, the student will be awarded with a teaching certificate.

Prerequisites
Recommended 30 hours of regular Pilates Reformer practice or equivalent.
Pilates Matwork Certification, Yoga Teacher Certification, Personal Trainer Certification will be a plus!

(i) Theory Exam
This is to test the trainee’s understanding of the course materials. There will be one theory exam per apparatus and Prehab Trainer modules. Exam links will be issued on the last day of the training and trainees are required to complete it within 6 weeks of its issuance.
(ii) Practical Exam (Teaching and Performance)
Prior to booking an evaluation timeslot, the trainee is required to submit the practical logs showing full completion of all hours as indicated in the Program Structure.
Performance Evaluation Criteria
Equipment set up for safety
Intent of exercise
Breath to facilitate movement
Quality of movement (e.g. spinal articulation; oppositional force etc)
Teaching Evaluation Criteria
(a) Knowledge of Material - which includes safety
(b) Teaching skills
Visual - the teacher’s eye and appropriate demonstration
Verbal - instructions, corrections, refinement and tone
Tactile - is the use of touch appropriate (with permission
(c) Class Planning - appropriate modification, connection of pieces and relevance to the client.
The practical evaluation process will take 2 hours.

A BTA Educator will also be your Mentor for the duration of your TT program.
